ELBA is the future of fire protection technology
Our in-house testing laboratory for fire detector applications, in short ELBA, is one of the most modern fire testing laboratories in the world: test fires can be carried out far beyond the applicable standards (e.g. DIN EN 54) over an area of 280 square metres. The short distances make it possible to efficiently and yet flexibly guarantee the high quality of our smoke detectors and to constantly develop them further.
A good example of this synergy is our new series of smoke detector Genius Plus Edition.

Safety in all areas
Our claim regarding the safety and quality of our products is based on our many years of experience in manufacturing and selling safety and fire alarm systems. The proximity to our parent company, the Securitas Group Switzerland, also supports our quality claim and requires faultless work – in every phase of cooperation with our customers. Together with our production company Hekatron Manufacturing, we have therefore been working with a quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001 since 1993. On this basis, we regularly review our processes and invest in new and better technology.
We take responsibility
Active environmental protection is an integral part of our corporate policy and therefore firmly anchored in our corporate principles. We ensure that material specifications and efficiency in terms of environmental behaviour are already taken into account when planning new products. Our environmental management system is certified and we have received several awards for energy efficiency and environmentally friendly action. Our employees also live by this principle, because we at Hekatron share responsibility and expect the same from our suppliers, of course.

Education: smoke demonstration house
The most dangerous thing in a fire is smoke – we know this as a partner for fire protection. Our goal is to pass this knowledge onto our children too. In the spirit of learning by doing, we therefore show them how quickly smoke can spread in a house.
For raising awareness for this very issue, we have donated a smoke demonstration house to the Gesellschaft für Sicherheitswissenschaft e. V. and the “fire safety education” working group in the Emmendingen district fire brigade association. Using the wooden model, school children are made aware of the typical household hazards. The children are taught where sources of danger lurk, how they arise, how they can be avoided, how to react in an emergency and how protective measures (e.g. smoke detectors) work.
The smoke demonstration house is also used to train rescue workers in tactical offensives.
